Day to Day Experience
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi. Take this day to rest, recover from your journey, and prepare for the upcoming adventure. Our team will provide a briefing and equipment check to ensure you are well-prepared for the trek.
After breakfast, we drive to the Rongai route’s starting point at Nalemuru Gate. Here, we complete the necessary registration formalities and meet our experienced mountain crew. The trek begins through the lush rainforest, where we may encounter various wildlife and enjoy the sounds of nature. We ascend gradually to reach Simba Camp, our first overnight campsite.
After breakfast, we continue our trek through the moorland, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. The trail gradually ascends, and we pass through the Second Cave, a notable geological formation. As we gain altitude, we can admire the panoramic vistas and acclimate to the changing environment. We spend the night at Second Cave Camp.
Today’s trek takes us through the alpine desert zone. The trail offers breathtaking views of the expansive landscapes and the towering peaks of Kilimanjaro. We continue our ascent, passing through unique rock formations and admiring the rugged beauty of the surroundings. We reach Kikilewa Camp, where we spend the night and enjoy the tranquillity of the high-altitude wilderness.
Leaving Kikilewa Camp, we ascend further into the alpine desert, approaching the magnificent Mawenzi peak. The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding glaciers and rugged landscapes. We reach Mawenzi Tarn Camp, situated near a picturesque alpine tarn. Here, we can rest, acclimate to the altitude, and enjoy the serene beauty of the surroundings.
Today’s trek takes us across the lunar-like landscape of the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. As we continue our ascent, we reach Kibo Camp, our base camp for the final summit push. Take this opportunity to rest, hydrate, and prepare for the challenging day ahead.
Today is the most demanding yet exhilarating day of the trek. We start the summit attempt in the early hours of the morning, guided by our experienced team. The ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, is challenging but immensely rewarding. Witnessing the sunrise from the summit is a truly awe-inspiring moment. After celebrating our achievement, we begin the descent to Horombo Hut, where we spend the night.
After breakfast, we continue our descent through the moorland, gradually transitioning back into the lush rainforest. The descending trail offers different perspectives of the mountain, and you can reflect on your incredible journey. We arrive at Marangu Gate, where you will receive your summit certificates. Our team will transfer you back to Moshi for a well-deserved celebration and rest.
After breakfast, our team will provide a transfer from your hotel to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure. Take with you cherished memories, a sense of accomplishment, and the knowledge that you have conquered the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro.
