You will hike through pristine rainforests—where wildlife sightings are common—and cross the spectacular Shira Plateau. This 6-day version moves at a faster pace, making it ideal for physically fit climbers who want to experience Lemosho's incredible diverse landscapes in a shorter timeframe.

Lemosho Gate to Shira 2 Camp
After a long, scenic drive to the western gate, you will be driven to a high-altitude drop-off point. From there, you will immediately trek through lush rainforest and up onto the beautiful Shira Plateau.

The Property
Your first night is spent high on the plateau. Relax in your 4-season tent on a thick 2.5-inch mattress, and enjoy a hot meal in our comfortable dining tent.

Shira 2 to Lava Tower and Barranco Camp
You will trek across the plateau and up to the Lava Tower for crucial acclimatization. Afterward, you descend into the stunning Barranco Valley, filled with prehistoric-looking Senecio plants.

Camp in the shadow of the imposing Barranco Wall. Wash the dust off at the hot water station before settling in for dinner.

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Scale the famous Barranco Wall—an exciting, non-technical rock scramble. Once at the top, you will traverse the valleys and ridges to reach the short-stop Karanga Camp.

A scenic camp perched on a ridge. You'll have plenty of time to rest in your tent and let your body adjust to the altitude.

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
A short but steep hike takes you into the alpine desert to reach Barafu Camp, your final staging ground for the summit. Rest as much as possible before the midnight wake-up.

This rocky, high-altitude camp is all about preparation. Our crew will ensure you are well-fed and hydrated before you bundle up to sleep.

Uhuru Peak to Millennium Camp
You will push through the cold and dark, climbing steadily to reach the Roof of Africa at sunrise. After celebrating your massive achievement, you will descend to Millennium Camp to rest.

Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate
A beautiful final hike through the rainforest brings you to the exit gate. Receive your certificate, say goodbye to the mountain, and return to Arusha.
